2021 Albums of the Year
The first ten albums on the list below are the ten ‘Album of the Year’ votes that I submitted to www.euroamericanachart.eu so it would be churlish to mess with them. Having said that, so many of the albums are interchangeable as favourites from one right down to ten but sadly a list must eventually solidify! Equally, some of the albums from eleven on down could often be swapped with some of the top ten and so on but I’m sure you’re getting the picture that anything totally set in stone when compiling these lists is something of a luxury, one that can’t be afforded! What is certain though, is the fact that every album listed on this page will enhance the music collection of anyone prepared to shell out the readies!
Any intrepid explorer of the list will note when they get near the bottom that there are several separating gaps. The Bruce Springteen 2 x CD and 1 DVD box is a late year addition and when it comes to live album releases, to me at least, is one of the all-time great live albums!
The two-box set ‘compilations’ are also essential. No box set can ever do the late great Gene Clark justice but this one, on just three discs, certainly tries. The 8-disc Beau Brummels set may be a little on the overkill side but there is some great roots music included therein.
Finally, I just had to mention a couple of tracks that were more impressive than most and were taken from great albums that you really need in your collection
I was going to add a few links and a little more detail but ultimately if you can’t google any required information, you really aren’t looking!
Enjoy the music!
