5 Chinese Brothers – Singer, songwriter, beggarman, thief (1994)
Excellent mellow country/rock/pop from the now long defunct four piece who coined the name because there weren’t five of them and they’re not Chinese. Makes sense!? Some very good songs, well played and with warm pleasant vocals.

James Keyes – The Middle (2013)
Tremendous, often musically as well as lyrically dark album from a man whose raw deep vocals alone would provide an evocative atmosphere. When you add those lyrics and musical arrangements this should be a hugely successful album!

The Devil Makes Three – I’m a stranger here (2013)
Terrific old time folksy album that blends a little rock ‘n’ roll attitude plus a dash of blues and even some ragtime, by one of the most consistent roots bands around.

Russell deCarle – Under the big big sky (2010)
Terrific album of quite mellow jazz with, unsurprisingly, a strong leaning towards western swing from this ex Prairie Oyster mainstay.

The Lonesome Southern Comfort Company – The Big Hunt (2013)
Incredible, musically dense album that is reminiscent of the pre country rock Byrds, updated with their own individuality for the 21st century with an alt. country feel!

J.B.Beverley – Stripped to the root. 2013
Incredible album of ‘roots music’ that blends country, hillbilly, rock, blues and a few other indeterminate sub genres into a recording that really should make JB a household name! Great songs, brilliantly arranged, sung, played and produced.

100 Mile House – Wait with me. 2013
Beautifully melodic album that has it’s roots in folksy country, by a band that contains two tremendous vocalists and who perform all their own songs. Mellow of sound but with a nice edginess that sets them apart from many of their peers.
