A History of American Roots music
The observant will notice that there is actually more music on the Chapter 1 music pages than on the text page. The reason for this is that I compiled a collection of c.d's with more than enough music and characters to cover the lectures, but thought that there was so much great music on the discs that I would upload all of it to the site to try to go a little further in reflecting the depth of this loose genre. It is not, nor could it ever be, a definitive collection or history but just little snippets that were selected at a particular time. Were I to do the same again, no doubt many if not all of the selections would be changed. The songs range from those that could be said to reflect that 'old weird America' right through to popular music of a particular time.
Footnote:- Efforts have been made to avoid copyright infringements but in the event of any objections to any of the music on this site, contact me and the offending song will be removed instantly!
